What is the difference between user and content licenses?
There are two types of licenses within the academy:
User license: grants an employee access to the learning environment.
Content license: grants access to Studytube content.
A user needs at least one user license to log in, and a content license if they also need access to Studytube's learning content.
What to do when licenses run out?
If all available licenses are in use:
Contact your Customer Success Manager to request additional licenses.
Until then, you won't be able to activate new users (user licenses) or allow users to access content (content licenses).
Tip: Remove users who have been inactive for a long time.
How can licenses show a negative balance?
Licenses may temporarily go into the negative in certain situations, for example:
When a user is added before the license count has updated.
Through automated synchronization with an HR system that adds new users.
In these cases, the academy may temporarily display a negative number of available licenses. Please contact us if this occurs.
Why can't I add users when content licenses are negative?
Although a user only needs a user license to log in, adding new users can be blocked if:
The settings automatically assign a content license to every new user.
There are no content licenses available.
Solution: contact us to request additional content licenses, or adjust the settings in consultation with your Customer Success Manager.
