You might not want to include certain information in the compulsory material, but maybe you do want to offer it to those who need it. You can do this by creating an adaptive learning track (fork).
When users need more information, for example because there is a part that they don’t yet master or because they need additional explanation for some other reason, an adaptive learning track can be created. You can do this as follows.
Place your mouse between the items where you want to insert the learning track. Click on the plus sign and select “Fork.” Add a title and write a text below in which you provide information about the optional learning track. Under Route possibilities, write the answer options:
The adaptive route possibility symbolises a route that deviates from the path.
This does not happen with the direct route possibility.
So make sure your answer options match this symbol.
To provide content to the adaptive learning track, you have two options:
Option 1 is to create new content by clicking the plus sign and selecting ‘Explanation’. Enter your adaptive option with title and explanation.
Option 2 is to drag an already existing item to the drag box. Then your existing item will be linked to the adaptive learning track.
It is also possible to place several items in a fork.
If you want to check whether you’ve done it correctly, you can click on ‘Options’ at the top left of the menu bar, followed by ‘Preview topic as a user’ to view the course.
